John Baker

Founder

As a second-generation financial professional, John grew up immersed in sophisticated financial strategies. He learned from his father, who was a pioneering estate planner and life insurance specialist.

After spending 11 years in the heavy equipment industry selling Caterpillar and John Deere construction equipment, John found his true calling in financial services. This diverse background gave him a fresh perspective and mature approach to helping clients achieve their financial goals.

Today, John leads Fortress Wealth Architects as an Investment Advisor Representative. He works with business owners, medical professionals, firefighters, and other committed people who are serious about optimizing their financial future.

A lifelong learner, John regularly participates in advanced financial think tanks and educational symposiums. He is constantly refining strategies to help clients maximize their financial potential. His ultimate goal is to give clients the confidence and framework to build, enjoy, and pass on wealth in the most efficient way possible.

Brad Bennett

Financial Representative

Brad Bennett brings 13 years of financial industry experience and a uniquely practical perspective to his role at Fortress Wealth Architects. His journey into finance began unexpectedly in 2001 when he met his future wife, whose family background in the financial world sparked his interest in the industry. Before transitioning to financial services, Brad spent a decade with Franklin Covey Coaching, including seven years as a Rich Dad coach. This was an experience that profoundly shapes his approach to client service today.

Brad’s methodology is distinctly different from traditional financial planning, influenced by his Rich Dad coaching background. He focuses intensively on reducing future tax liability, managing market risk, and maximizing cash flow for his clients. He emphasizes to clients that it’s not about how much you make, it’s about how much you keep. You’ll also hear him repeat that you can’t spend a rate of return, but you can spend or reinvest cash flow.

What sets Brad apart is his long-term perspective and holistic approach to financial planning. He evaluates how today’s financial choices affect future outcomes across multiple dimensions. This includes tax implications, liquidity options, and cash flow potential. His philosophy centers on creating flexible strategies that don’t leave clients trapped without options, ensuring they maintain control over their financial future.

Brad finds deep satisfaction in helping clients transform their financial situations. This may be guiding young families in building sustainable cash flow structures, helping couples recover from financial setbacks, or providing retirement security for older clients. He is currently pursuing certification as an Income Advisor.

Outside of work, Brad is a dedicated family man. Married since 2002, he and his wife are proud parents of three athletic children who keep them constantly on the move. All three kids race for their school’s mountain bike team. The twins play basketball while their oldest excels in both club and high school swimming and is sponsored for extreme long-range shooting.

For Brad, financial planning isn’t just about retirement. It’s about creating a legacy that extends to future generations. His greatest professional satisfaction comes from helping clients transform their financial dreams into reality. He loves turning seemingly impossible goals into achievable outcomes through strategic planning and personalized guidance.

Rodney Stockton

Rodney Stockton

Financial Representative

Rodney jokes that he got into financial services because he thought it was a good way to help people and it was the only thing he was interested in outside of basketball. He is now a 32-year veteran of the industry. He specializes in helping clients build cash flows beyond their primary employment.

Rodney emphasizes that most people try to save and invest for their future. This means they invest in things that delay the use of their funds. In contrast, he helps people see that there are ways to build wealth and also be able to use it sooner rather than later. One of Rodney’s proudest accomplishments was helping a high school football coach grow from minimal assets to a net worth of approximately $4.5 million.

Faith plays a central role in Rodney’s life and practice. He explains, “Jesus said that He did not come to be served, but rather to serve. That’s how I strive to live my life.”

Rodney is currently is pursuing his Series 65 license to expand his ability to manage client assets. He has been married for almost ten years. He enjoys traveling, participating in ministries, and spending time with family and friends. A New Mexico native, he played basketball during his first year at New Mexico Military Institute.

Tracey Spikes

Tracey Spikes

Financial Representative

Tracey began his career by being recruited by his high school friend’s father. Although he jokes about him lying to him to get him into the business, he’s still here after 31 years.

His approach is straightforward: instead of chasing wealth, he concentrates on eliminating lost money. He focuses on helping people understand the mathematics behind their financial concerns. One of his proudest achievements is helping clients pay off their mortgages to secure brighter retirements.

Tracey is driven by far more than making money. He genuinely loves helping people maximize their wealth and quality of life.

Tracey has been married for 35 years and has four children, two daughters-in-law, and one granddaughter. When not in the office developing income models, he enjoys working on his farm and carpentry projects. His guiding principle is simple but powerful: “It’s okay to make mistakes; you just can’t leave them as mistakes.”
